Biography
American tenor Ben Reisinger continues to distinguish himself as an emerging lyric tenor on some of the world’s leading operatic stages. Highlights of the 2026–27 season include his role debut as Roméo in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette with Opera Nacional de Chile in Santiago, his Italian debut as Ismaele in Verdi’s Nabucco at the Teatro Reggio di Parma, and his return to the Metropolitan Opera in the role of Jonathan Dale in Kevin Puts’ Silent Night.
Recent seasons have seen Reisinger appear with the Metropolitan Opera as Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviata, the Young Sailor in Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, and the First Armed Man in Mozart’s Magic Flute.
Beyond the Metropolitan Opera in 2025, Reisinger performed Alfredo Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata with Opera Colorado and covered the Duke in Verdi’s Rigoletto with San Francisco Opera.
Reisinger has been awarded top awards in competitions including Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition 2026, Sara Tucker Study Grant 2025, Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition 2025, Toland Vocal Arts Competition in 2025, Premiere Opera Competition 2025, Opera Index 2023, Sullivan Foundation in 2025 and others. He was also awarded an engagement at the Semperoper Dresden through the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition.
A native of Rochester, New York, Reisinger is a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera and holds degrees from Nazareth University and Michigan State University.
